Studio, the shadow of a stained glass window
Studio, the shadow of a stained glass window depicts the play of light (through a stained glass window in my old studio) on to a blank drawing book.
Starting from the front of the book, the page was turned every 5 seconds and digitally photographed as the light fell upon it’s surface, resulting in 1 minute of documented time.
The book was then dismantled and the resulting documentation printed back onto the book before re-assembling.
Studio, the shadow of a stained glass window is part of a planned series which transforms the drawing books from mass-produced objects into individual relics of particular spaces and times they have inhabited.
Other books in the series:
Grandma's Sideboard, the shadow of a 1960s ashtray
